"A Hat in Time" is an indie game, or a game made by an individual company or person without the influence of large corporations like Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony, where the player controls a kid with a hat who wants to go home. The mafia on a nearby planet unfortunately caused the loss of her main fuel source though: the time pieces. These time pieces are hourglasses that both power the kid's ship and can rewind time if broken. It is up to the kid to go onto the planet of the mafia and recollect the lost time pieces so that the kid could go home.
